CPKC drags feet on attendance and sick leave negotiations

Overflow room block obtained for SMART-TD NTS attendees

Great news for those attending the SMART-TD National Training Seminar (NTS) in Cleveland, Ohio, this July! The Transportation Division has acquired an extra discounted room block at the Drury Plaza Hotel Cleveland Downtown for those attendees still needing to make hotel reservations.

Ukrainian rail workers need our assistance

Rail workers in Ukraine are running low on personal protective equipment and other supplies. SMART Transportation Division is taking up a collection of these items to deliver to their union. If you would like to contribute, send all donations, either of items or monetary assistance, to the SMART-TD office in Cleveland, Ohio.

DIPP assessments drop to 32 cents per dollar of daily benefit coverage

Effective July 1, 2024, the monthly DIPP assessment for participants will be reduced from 50 to 32 cents per $1 of daily benefit coverage. This reduction and a 90% + approval on all new claims make SMART DIPP the premier option for discipline income protection in the industry.
